Nautical

I'm pretty much obsessed with anything nautical themed. There is no such thing as too much nautical!
So, I bought this ADORABLE navy polka dot dress back in October for my trip to Hawaii. I wore it on the beach a few times and have never worn it since- it is sleeveless and hit just above the knee. Now there's nothing wrong with that, but for various reasons at this point in my life I only wear below the knee skirts. Anyways, So I sort of hung it up in the back of my closet and forgot about it... Then suddenly this evening a brilliant idea hit me- to sew a white strip along the bottom to add the few tedious inches! So I tried it out and whaddya know, it looks amazing. In fact, I think like it BETTER! *pats self on back*. I'm now going to LIVE in this dress. I absolutely LOVE it!
Pic #2 is a dress I found at Ross last weekend. One of my favorite color combinations is coral/white/navy, so you can imagine my utter and complete elation to find a maxi dress in my size for $10 with all my favorite colors! SCORE!
Pic #3 is just another nautical/coral outfit.
Pic #4 is nothing so great, I just really like the color combo (:

So on a rather unrelated note, a few days ago, my husband informed me that I "only ever wear denim [skirts] anymore".

Well, Husband, challenge accepted.

Truth is, denim is my favorite. I like having pockets, I like how it looks, it goes with pretty much everything. Denim doesn't need to explain itself. Denim knows it's just pure awesome. BUT, we can't have Husband walking around thinking I, Emmi Yoder, am not CAPABLE of creating awesome outfits with non-denim pieces. So, for the next few months I will purposefully be incorporating a lot of outfits that don't feature denim skirts. {with the sole purpose to prove husband wrong. Baha}

And it WILL be legen(waitforit)dary!

[Sigh. I really have no life.]

:P

Cheers! Xoxo
