Fave outfits from 2012!

Just a few of my favorite outfit compilations from 2012. I have MANY more outfits I've worn this year that I loved, but these are the only ones I happen to have photos of :). Some of my newest color obsessions at the moment are mint blueish greens, pale pink/corals, creams, and greys. I'm also really digging cardigans, belts, leggings, scarves, vests, and boots with knee socks or leg warmers.

Cheers to 2013, fashionistas!

Introduction/ pet peeves

Hello peeps,
So I have decided to start a blog. (obviously!) I decided maybe it was time to stop cluttering all my friends' Facebook and Instagram feeds with photos of my mall hauls and outfit combos, fitness tips etc. So, you guessed it! My blog is going to be solely about my passions in life: Fashion, Shopping, Fitness, makeup, And maybe a little about my monotonous married life :) So, for starters, I'm going to make a list of my current fashion pet peeves. Enjoy.

-Brown and black may both be considered shades, but be not fooled.... They do not go together in most situations.
-Pajamas in public. It takes 5 minutes to put real clothes on. And the rest of the world actually has to look at you, so do us all a favor and leave the sweats at home, please and thank you.
- Booties with skirts. I'm not talking the cute heeled booties you see a lot of celebs wearing, I'm talking about ankle height boots worn with midi skirts. There is always an exception to the rule, as rules are meant to be broken, but in most cases it just looks ridiculous. Especially when worn bare legged! *le sigh
- Print with print. This is probably my NUMBER ONE pet peeve. Only 1% of the time can print be worn with another print. Such as the current trend to wear small florals with polka dots or stripes. However this is still a very fine line between being edgy and trendy, and looking like bozo the clown. Moral of the story: it doesn't matter what colors the top or bottoms are, if they are both printed, you will most likely look like a clown, or homeless person, if worn together. So just don't.
- Ill fitting jeans. If your butt is a size 10, please buy a size 10. You're not doing anyone any favors by trying to squeeze into a size smaller, unless you have ACTUALLY lost weight. Also please note fit. Pocket placement and cut can make a world of difference.
-Ill fitting tops. Tops can be hard for a lot of women to find, due to the gravity of variety in women's shapes and sizes. But it must be said. There is nothing less flattering than a woman with a shirt that is too tight or way too big. A top should fit snugly around the waist, but not be stripping tight across the boob region (or baggy, in my case.......) Yes, I know these "rules" make it rough or near impossible to find tops for some of you, but trust me, you'll thank me later. I suggest finding a good tailor or learning to sew.
-Mismatched styles/materials. Some of the time mismatched style can be a hit, such as jeans with dressy tops. But this does not translate to every area of our closets! Certain fabrics, such as velvet, satin, etc, do NOT mix with casual wear, such as polo shirts, tees, etc. Sweaters are borderline, depending on fit, color, etc.
-Outdated clothing. This is not 1801. You all know who you are.

The end.
